The Valley Center Fire Fighters Association (Local 5187) represents 21 full-time professional firefighters and paramedics who protect the residents and visitors of our hometown.

The Valley Center Fire Fighters Association is dedicated to providing our community with outstanding fire protection and emergency medical services. We strive to uphold the highest level of professionalism and integrity in all aspects of our work and to ensure the safety of our citizens.

The Valley Center Fire Protection PAC is a political action fund made up of voluntary contributions by our fire fighters to advocate for fire fighter and public safety interests. Our responsibility is to educate the voters of the fire protection district and the politicians who represent them about critical public safety issues facing our citizens and our members on the front lines.

Join us for the 6th annual Guns & Hoses Chili Cook-off, part of Valley Center's Community-Wide Event Since 1950.

Life Saving Award - February 2024

At a recent board meeting, the Valley Center Fire Protection District (VCFPD) celebrated the heroic actions of five firefighters who played a crucial role in saving a woman's life following a cardiac arrest. The team, consisting of Captain Andre Paredes, Engineer Steve Mandich, and Firefighter/Paramedics Ben Stillinger and Michael Caro, along with Firefighter/EMT Chris McCann, responded swiftly to a 911 call on January 31st. Their professional and exemplary effort not only preserved a life but prevented a family and community from facing a tragic loss. The patient is making a recovery and is expected to leave the hospital soon, with ongoing support from the Valley Center Fire Fighters Association.

Toys for Tots 2023

Each year, the Marine Toys for Tots Program collects new unwrapped toys and distributes those toys to less fortunate children at Christmas. The Valley Center Fire Protection District assists with this mission by being a designated receiving area.
